We received a letter from this place and the first thing I did was go to Yelp and Google to see if anyone had firsthand experience with them. Lo and behold there were more than 40 reviews proclaiming them to be a scam. Exactly what I expected it's a cliche' but true: if it sounds too good to be true Sad that there are people out there preying on parents desperate to do right by their children's future. But that's the world we live in. Promised they would help getting scholarships and if they didn't then they would refund me. Imagine my surprise when I called for that refund and was told that I only had three days from signing to cancel.
Absolutely a scam! this is not a trusted company who in order to help you want 2, dollars to start helping you "full speed". The presenter gives a good speech and knows that parents are in need to get assistance of all kinds there is the pitch! then they get you in line with a sales person to explain further and its when they ask you for the payment its a joke, they even offer promotion in payments we wasted almost 2 hours, what a waste of time. somehow they get to know the student's name and mail you like on behalf of the school or something. such a SCAM! I got a letter from this company last school year and this school year. After doing research on the whole thing, you have to pay a fee to get the assistance. You should NEVER have to pay for financial assistance. I recommend just going to your counselor or college advisor at your school.
They can help you find scholarships and help you fill out the FAFSA, and it's all free. Another thing I'd like to mention- when I looked up where my location is, it's in a hotel around 14 miles away. I would rather just go to my counselor at that rate since I don't want to travel so far for such a resource. Please BE AWARE!!! That year starts from when you sign the contract to exactly a year later. She needs them more than ever especially with the situation with Covid19 and her learning from home this year. Those who have to make payments in order to get their student into the program pays the same amount, if not more and should have the same amount of time and access to tutors as those who pay upfront. The only reason that I've rated them with two stars is because I haven't had any experience with the other areas of their service yet.
Pleaseeeee dont use these crooks. Even during a pandemic, they want their money. The contract was signed last year. And now that my kid has chosen a trade track and im not working. They don't care. You must fulfill the contract. Seeing 42 total review and all of them being 1 star speaks for itself. I will update this review at a later time with more details. After reading these reviews I decided to call the company and find out more information. Once I called they were very helpful in fitting us into the next available meeting that was offered at a hotel not an office a hotel. I asked what further fees are included and she informed me there are additional fees that are offered to you but you can decline.
We scheduled an appointment, I thought it over and it sounded more of a Time share option so we canceled our appointment. This letter came in today. It sounded like a scam and with some research I was proven right. If you receive this letter throw it in the trash. They just want money for things you can do on your own and or with your school counselor. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS GARBAGE. College Admissions Assistance. Write a review. Add photo. Review Highlights. Learn more. I agree. During the presentation. But have a second thought before doing that. Save your money. All the resources they provide are accessible for FREE in your high schools admission and counseling offices and that universities do visit the school to give information. It is not a scam but you do not need to pay what you can get for free. They will promise assistance for seeking scholarships, for tutors in SAT test and math and english subjects.
Think think before you sign up and pay. So interesting how consumer feedback like Yelp can be such a huge influence in making decisions on how to spend your money now.
